ACTIVITES SERVING THE BAY AREA HOMELESS COMMUNITY.
STANDING ON THE WORD OUTREACH go where few organizations dare go. For the past fifteen years, STANDING ON THE WORD OUTREACH in conjunction with Midnight Ministry has severed the homeless community throughout the greater Bay Area. We have a team of about ten individuals including my wife and me who go out on Wednesday and Friday nights between the hours of 11:00 pm. - 4:00 a.m. to feed the homeless communities of Alameda County i.e. West Oakland, Downtown Oakland the tri-city area Fremont, Newark, Union City, Emeryville, and Berkeley. To those that are living under freeway overpasses, abandoned buildings, bridges, cars, etc. The organizations outreach staff, my wife, and I feed between one hundred twenty to one hundred eighty people on Monday and Friday nights
We feed the homeless community of the greater Bay Area restaurant quality food; they receive the best of the best. We provide hot home cooked meals for God’s precious creation on any given Friday night they will receive Bar BQ Chicken, Beef Brisket, potato salad, steak chili with corn bread muffins, Turkey and Dressing with fresh string beans, smothered chicken, rice, gravy, yams and more. We also provide shoes, socks, coats hygiene items and more… This is a labor of love that we’re honored and privileged to have part in. We are an organization that is a work in progress; however, we’re enjoying the process. Our motto is, “if it’s not good enough to put our own dinner table, then we won’t feed it to God’s precious sheep”.
Barbara Littles’ testimony.
When we first met Barbara on the streets of West Oakland, she was homeless and deeply consumed by her addiction. However, she sought help from STANDING ON THE WORD OUTREACH and we were able to provide resource information that would ultimately change her life. Barbara is also HIV positive. She has maintained her sobriety for three years and as a result she takes her prescribed medicines and life has never been better. Barbara is gainfully employed, she has a great workout regimen, and lives life to the fullest. She is a true example of the Power of persistent prayer and not giving up.
Sincerely
Andre L. Wilson CEO and Servant and Tracy Wilson COO
