Andre Wilson started feeding the homeless community in the greater Bay Area with Midnight ministry in 1997 under the leadership of Pastor Jack Williams. My wife Tracy joined the team in 2005 and in 2007, after the death of Pastor Jack Williams, we ventured off to start our own feeding ministry and was established as a 501(c)3 Non-profit organization in 2015. S.O.W has been absolutely relentless at serving the homeless population in the greater Bay Area. As the CEO of STANDING ON THE WORD HOMELESS OUTREACH my passion has been to feed every homeless person that I come into contact with regardless of color, creed, nationality, sexual orientation, or religious background. There is a team of about ten individuals including my wife and I who go out on Wednesday and Friday nights between the hours of 12:00 a.m. -4:00 a.m. to feed the homeless communities of Oakland, Fremont, Hayward, Union City, Emeryville and Berkeley. To those that are living under the freeways, abandoned buildings, bridges, cars, etc. The ministerial staff, my wife, and I feed between fifty and one hundred and twenty people on Wednesday and Friday nights. We feed the people only first rate food; they receive the best of the best. We provide hot home cooked meals for God’s precious creation on any given Friday night they will receive Barbeque Chicken, Beef Brisket, potato salad, steak chili with corn bread muffins, Turkey and Dressing with fresh string beans, smothered chicken, rice, gravy, yams and more. We also provide shoes, New socks, New coats, New under garments, hygiene items and more… This is a labor of love that we’re honored and privileged to have part in. Our motto is, “if it’s not good enough to put our own dinner table, then we won’t feed it to God’s precious sheep”.
